As many seller’s are aware, mid August of 2024 an “earthquake of change” will take place on how a buyer’s agents will be paid.  These changes could be quickly summarized in two main components:

a) Commissions offered to the buyer’s agent cannot be put on MLS

b) Before a house can be shown to prospective buyers,  a buyer’s agreement needs to be executed between the buyer and the buyer’s agent regarding compensation.

The Commission structure for the buyer’s agent will become a much more important conversation between listing agent and home seller.
